I use stainless steel anchors that are 4" round and as long as needed for the weight, cut at 45 degree angles on both ends. It has a bar almost across the length with an O-ring on it. that allows you to go above the anchor in the current and un-hang it. I fish out of a 20' boat and have two weights 35lbs and 55lbs. I carry which ever one I feal is necessary for the current that day. I have also used every other type imaginable and none of them work as well, except for basically the same setup listed above except with flat ends and two 10" pieces of steel welded in an X at one end. This style works very well on sandy bottoms, but will hang in rocks.
