I think a traditional trout technique. Use a "hopper" (like a grasshopper, but around here I'd suggest a cork bodied popper - it MUST float well) at the end of your leader. Then tie tippet from the hook of that hopper/popper about 12 to 20 inches long and tie a bead headed nymph on the bottom of the tippet. Hopper floats and suspends dropper underneath. Hopper acts as a strike indicator or bobber. Changing depth of wet fly is done by lengthening that 12 to 20 inch tippet. Is that what you're asking? It's a very effective set up, but can get easily tangled. takes some practice. 2 fish on one line is FUN! Did it twice yesterday.
