Fished from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm today. Rained almost constantly the whole time. Water temp was 57-59 degrees. Fish that were caught early weren't really relating to any structure. They took a break for a couple of hours and I caught up with them again after lunch. They had moved and were TIGHT in the cover. Ended up with 15 keepers all at 1 - 1 1/2 lb. and lost probably 10 more keepers that I couldn't get out of the tops they were holding so tight. All fish were caught 4-6 ft deep and in 6-15 ft of water. Used minnows and couldn't even buy a strike with a jig. 5 out of the 15 were females. Eggs were full but not busting and blood veins were real red. Males didn't really show any signs of getting ready to spawn. I don't think it will be too much longer. If the temps hold out the first wave of spawners will be on the way.
