I actually fish the Elk a few times a month (home fishing grounds) and we have not been into anything great this year. I am not too sure what it is, but the fish are real small and not biting that great. Try cleos and white/red roostertails and also black and gold. We have caught limits of crappie below the dam, so that keeps us busy.
As for vandalism, we had a run-in with this one fellow while camping. He came into the camp and ate all of our trout that we were saving for lunch the next day. Thief! He was a coon, so I guess it was natural! Took us by surprise. I dont think that anyone will disturb your vehicle, everyone in Lynchburg is sippin on the mash anyway! Just dont leave valuables in sight. Shoot me an e-mail for more advice! Matt
