Your wife is 37 weeks pregnant and going sauger fishing - wow! My wife is due on Feb. 12, but we will not make it that far because we are being blessed with TWIN boys. The doctor wants to take them early so my fishing days for this spring are certainly numbered. And just when it was getting better with my daughter who is almost 3 and loves the boat.
I have recently contacted an old sauger connection and he, like everyone else, has been catching lots of small ones below G-ville dam. He said about 7-10 fish per trip is a good average. We will be going soon when the weather breaks. I can only handle so much cold, and just about freaked last year when I returned to the boat ramp to find it covered with ice after everyone had launched in the morning.
Everyone be careful out there in the winter... it does not take much to get yourself into trouble!
