The TWRA places clusters of Christmas trees in Tims Ford Lake. They are usually about 5-7 feet apart (center to center) and are sunk with an 8" block wired to the bottom with a 2 liter plastic bottle wired at the top. As far as I know, it is perfectly legal to put out brush piles here on the Tennessee River lakes as long as you stay out of channels that may be dredged. Make sure the needles are not on the trees.
