So what part of Michigan? I use to spend my summers in Lundington fishing Hamlin. Now the lakes down here are completely different from up north (with the exeption of Guntersville). Most are lacking the grass like in Michigan lakes. For the ponds and private lakes, I have found that plastics either Texas rigged or finnesed (no weight, just a hook) work best for me. The bass in these smaller waters get spooked very easy by big blades, big splashes, alot of vibration.... My favorite techinique is to use Zoom finnesse worms (June bug color) with a 2/0 hook. Cast it out with a spinning reel and let it slowly sink (vary the time) and then twitch it several times and let it sink again. Well Good luck!!!
