I heard that the SW stripes were schooling below Guntersville dam on Friday. A guy told me that a guy told him that he caught stripers until he was tired of catching them and they were hitting just about anything he threw at them. This is not unbelievable because the fish do school up and it is about the right water temperature. I guess the bait fish must have moved back in? Last time I went was a month or so ago and the baitfish did not seem to be hanging around below the dam anywhere.
TVA has changed the flow dramatically since Friday, so they may or may not still be around. I have too much going on these days to find out for myself and give y'all a first hand report. If you are planning a Sauger trip soon and get bored, you might want to throw a big, heavy sassy shad or try some of those big striper jerk baits in the current below the dam.
