My cousin and myself lauched at Ditto Landing and went up river toward Paint Rock river.. We started fishing about 7a.m... TVA had the water moving pretty good. It was a little slow at first. We did manage to catch a few sauger after finding them in about 42-45 feet of water. We made several drifts looking for bigger sauger. Everything we caught was small except for the white stripe and drums..Went to the Painted Bluffs and managed to catch a few more but they were small too. We used 7 dozen tuffies and managed to bring home 7 fish(not a very good ratio)... Caught a bunch of little sauger and managed at least 1 that was 15 inches. We left about 3p.m.... Hopefully this rain and cold weather will help bring in the "stove pipe" sized sauger.. We were using 1 ounce size jig heads with a 3 inch white grub tipped with a minnow.. I hope the other fisherman we saw had a little better luck on the size of their saugers... GOOD FISHING TO ALL... Louis T.
