Try the barge canal to the left of the one headed to the locks at Wilson. Small bait is on top but I found larger ones using my Garmin 240. Troll around looking for a school near the bottom in 9-12 feet of water, then let your cast net sink all the way to the bottom. Most people were casting near the bank catching small ones, but I stayed from 50-150 feet from the bank for my 4"-6" yellowtails.

I have not personally caught, or heard of any great numbers of good sized stripers/hybrids being caught this fall. I seem to be catching lots of small fish -- all under 10 pounds.
