For the past umpteen years I have caught good sized crappie at several bridges/causeways on Guntersville Lake -- until this year. I have not caught more than 3 crappie over 10" on any trip this fall from early September until now. Usually when bass assassins and jigs slow down I can always catch plenty of slabs with a tuffy minnow and slip float. I have one "honey hole" next to the river channel that always produces for me when current is present -- until this year. Lord knows we've had plenty of current for the past several weeks. I've tried fishing from 3' down to 24' at the bottom with pitiful results. Previously I've caught them mostly between 9' and 18' during this time of year. I'm stumped -- Does anyone have any "pearls of wisdom" they would like to share with me? I'm open to any suggestions -- except short fuses and hand cranked generators.
