Fished early Sunday A.M. in a cut off the main Coosa River towards Rome and finally caught some good crappie. The fish were finally in trees and beginning to act like crappie. I am so thankful each time I can get on fish like this! I fished for about 4 hours and ended up with 25 fish each around 1 pound to 1 and a half pounds. My biggest was right at 2 pounds! All fish measured right at ten inches or over. I cleaned the fish and divided up the filets and I am planning to give them to my grandfather who is not doing well. As much as he has taught me about fishing, I could never repay him. I will just hope that I will be blessed to pass it down to my children! Good fishin!

The fish were in colder but clearer water than the main river, which I have caught them like this before. The water in the main river channel was 51 degrees and the water in the creek was 49. Beats me, but I am not complaining. The fish were caught in 10 to 12 foot of water fishing a white jig with a red head.
