I have a carolina skiff standard series 16 footer. It has a cooler seat in the middle and a bench in the rear front deck. I have really enjoyed fishing out of this boat due to the versatility. I have been in the bay, 4 miles out int he gulf, Tenn. river, smith lake, tons of rivers and it has been good for all places. I recomend getting the largest engine that the hull is rated for because they are a little underated due to the hull design.
2 totally custom
4 shallow running
5 carries a lot of weight
6 goes through crazy rough water
1 No sump
2 sprays pretty bad in choppy water
3 lack of built in storage options such as rod lockers etc..
4 no pads on side of boat to add any accesories(have to drill through the side)
I totally recomend this boat for the person that goes fishing under all types of conditions and is not set on one type of fishing. It doesnt outperform any boat in one set type of fishing but it is the most verstile boat you will ever own.
Have fun with your skiff!
