I crappie fished under the big bridges in Guntersville for 3 hours today. The water temperature was 59.5 degrees in the channel. I only managed 2 keepers, but one was a slab that was 16.5 inches long and weighed 2 lbs 3 oz. All good crappie were caught on tuffy minnows at 14 feet deep with a slip float. I only caught non-keeper crappie on jigs today. Surely the crappie will get fired up soon. I haven't caught a big mess of crappie yet this year. There was plenty of current since the flood gates are open at the dam. Lots of people were catching plenty of bluegill all around me, mainly using crickets fished on the bottom from 12-35 feet deep. I caught one big bluegill on a crappie jig and one on a minnow. Good Luck!
