I tried below Wheeler Dam from 6:00 - 12:00 this morning without much luck. I managed three largemouths weighing about 2 lbs each and three smallies, two of which were under a pound, one just over. I also caught one 2.5 lb hybrid, a 1.5 lb channel cat, and more drum than you could shake a stick at. They generated a large volume of water today and I thought the smallies would be more active than they were. I saw lots of tournament fishermen throwing spinerbaits and crankbaits without much success. I fished current seams using a combination of creek minnows and yellowtails for bait, with yellowtails catching everything but the largemouths. The water temperature was 66.6 degrees. I wish the water would cool down some more so the fish would really start feeding for winter. Good Luck!
