Fished this weekend with my 11 yo son. Caught one 12 inch crappie and 30-40 bream. Fished under 3 different bridges around the Guntersville area and the results were the same everywhere. The bream are tearing it up.
I prefer to put the bell sinker up about 6 inches above the minnow (crappie) or cricket (bream). I think this gives the fish a second or so to run with a weightless bait and get it a little deeper. I know that this is backwards from 99.9% of the rest of the under the bridges crowd, but I like it.
