A few crappie are being caught below G-ville Dam on the south side. Before the turbines kick on they are being caught along the rocks near the powerhouse on the small shad that are schooling. The minnows are runing pretty small since most pass through the mesh on my cast net. After they start generating they are biting near the boat launch and just downstream around the rockpile using red/white tube jigs. No big slabs yet but it shouldn't take long for them to show up. The water temperature today ranged from 74.5 degrees at 10:00 to 74.9 degrees at 1:00.
Stripers are also being caught on shad but most are under 10 pounds. I heard about some smallmouth being caught this past week but none for me today. Some folks can't tell a spotted bass from a smallies so I can't say for sure they were smallmouth. Things should really pick up soon. Good Luck!
