The cover was a man made stake bed. It is completely under water, but I noted its position when the water was down last winter season. Blackwell swamp and run can produce some crappie, but look out for alligators and you may also spot some Bald eagles. I caught those around noon, but usually early morning late afternoon is best. Light (sunlight) does seem to make a difference most of the time. Full sun tends to make the crappie seek shady cover, but the day I caught those the sun was popping in and out from behind the clouds the whole time I was catching them. I work the jig around, next to and straight through the cover. Of course, this means losing jigs from time to time. I suggest a weedless jighead or very light wire hook to reduce loss due to snagging.
Hope this helps.
Good luck and good fishin'
