I remember a BIG issue was brought up about the U.S.Coastguard dumping old batteris in the river around the navigational light markers. The coastguard said they had cleaned up their mess around these markers after the issue of pollution in the Tennessee river system was brought up. Ray Scott, the founder of the B.A.S.S. hired a crew of indepedent divers to back track the work of the coastguard as to the clean-up of these batteries. Scott and his crew still found MORE batteries around these light markers. What a shame. It seems that the U.S.Coastguard did not completely fulfill their obligation to clean the batteries from our waterways. Has anyone heard of anything about the Coastguard completing the job ??? I would hate to see the slow death of a great fisheries waterway as the Tennessee River system.. GOOD FISHING TO ALL........ Louis T.
