The world record shellcracker was caught last year
in the Diversion canal between the Santee Cooper Lakes. I fish there at least twice a month. You can catch quality fish but not the numbers like I see in the lakes of Alabama (greatest state to fish in the US). In July I fished Lake Oliver which is at Columbus, Ga and caught nice size shellcrackers all day. For Bluegill I think either Lake Wilson or Pickwick have to be counted as the some of the best. I am in the Navy and for the past 28 yrs I have lived in several states. None have the kind of fishing that you have in Ala.
