Sam, That is a question that alot of people want to know! As for as the exact number, well lets just say noone really knows. Unfortunately crappie fishing has to many variables. These variables change from day to day and from year to year. I can tell you this though, by keeping accurate records over the years like I have, 57 degrees is a good number to start trying. Alot has to do with the angle of the sun and the availability of forage. Hope this helps.
