Boo I use to fish smith alot for crappie in the fall and spring. It can be really good in the fall on smith. Where I fish is up on Hwy 278 around Looneys where the Sipsey comes in. My best advice is get minnows and get out find you a good long bank on the deep side cut the trolling motor on, start down the bank watching your fih finder. You will find them, there is some very, very large piles of brush. They may be 20 to 25ft. deep but you drop down there about 10 to 12 foot. And it's good easy fishing. And you will hang a catfish that will try to pull you out of the boat at times too. Happy fishing just keep hunting'em where the wind blows in to a deep bank, or the water will tote things when the water is up.
