I had a chance this summer to visit a friend and fish Minnesota for a week. It is amazing the attitude of the entire state toward fishing. I saw no garbage or trash at any of the 15 different lakes we fished. There are clean, operational fish cleaning stations located at many of the lakes. The DNR folks were out in force, and would gladly show you places off of the beaten path where the fishing was good. We took their advice a couple of times and did quite well doing just what they suggested. We saw plenty of pleasure boaters, but not once were we "disturbed" by them. I don't want to live in Minnesota, but I sure wish some of their fishing customs and courtesies would make there way south. It is evident that they know what a resource their fishing waters are in terms of vacation dollars and they work hard to keep it valuable.
Just wanted to give you something to think about.
