I went to the Honeycomb bridge about 6am yesterday and didn't catch anything. There were some small fish swirling, but they wouldn't take anything. Not sure if they were small skipjacks or something else. The water was flowing towards Jagger creek for the 20-30 minutes I was there.
Left Honeycomb and tried the Guntersville side of Brownscreek bridge. One average bluegill and a small white bass. Not to mention several small skipjack. Only stayed here for about 20-30 minutes as well.
Left there and tried below Guntersville dam on the Arab (south) side at about 7:30 or so. I hooked several skipjacks and I think I hooked a couple of smallmouths in the 1 pound or less range, but they got off on the first jump, so I am still not sure if they were smallies or skips. Didn't see anyone doing any better than I was, so I left about 8:30am and headed for home.
6 or 8 more weeks... (grin)
Good luck and good fishin'
