I am no expert, but I think it is just too dang hot. Stripers, especially the salts, really thrive in cooler water with higher oxygen content. I once read an article, and I believe it said that stripers will sacrifice their food supply to find deeper, cool, well oxygenated food in the summer. In fact, I believe it was the AL DNR web site. Let me see if I can find the link...

Don't way TOO long, 'cause the stripers will surely be stacked up again below the dam about March! I believe they might also make a good Fall run too, but Spring has definitely been best to me in the past. Water temps from 55-65 stands out in my mind for best striper times. And if you plan to eat your catch, parasites and disease seem to be very infrequent after winter.
