As far as I can tell, and I am no expert on mayfly identification, the large willowflies/mayflies we most often see around here are or are at least most like the hexagenia limbata. The page link listed below shows a range that does not include this area, so I am not completely sure, but it looks most like what I see on the river.

Last year I think I saw hatches as late as September or maybe even October! You should be able to find hatching flies at least from now until the end of August anyway. I am still not sure if there is any significant relationship to moon cycles and hatches or not.
