Bill, thanks for the advise. I see all to often, people taking wilson pool for granted. As far as staying off of wilson or below wheeler dam in high winds-----GREAT IDEA. What alot of people dont know is, when fishing below wheeler dam, there are to things to watch for. Heavy current and a west wind. If one is trying to drift fish below wheeler dam with a west wind of 15 mph or higher, they are putting their life at more risk. keep in mind that I have drift fished for smallmouth below wheeler dam in 20-25 mph winds. These winds were coming out of the east or north east. As far as a South wind is concerned, these can be very dangerous once you get past Big nance creek. Other than that, be careful and wear those life jackets.
