First of all I would like to start off by saying
that this is not new when it comes to TVA playing with
the water. As far as accepting it, I do not. Not long ago
there was a meeting held at the Holiday-inn in Decatur by
TVA. Although I did not like the overall scope of
the meeting, I did learn that the so called "jerking" the
water around basically started back in 1991 when their
operating proceedures changed. Ever since 1991, fishing
has not been the same. Kerry and I both attended the public
meeting together. We did not find out exact answers but
we did walk away with a better understanding. There
were several people there that have followed up on
some issues that could not be answered that evening.
I also do not like the way TVA handles the water. But at the
same time it is not to their interest in keeping me happy!
Believe it or not, fishing is one of their least "worries".
I feel with time, if we participate in future meetings and
let others (TVA) know what concerns us, something will be
done. Will it happen over night?? Only in a perfect world.
Kerry did a good job posting about the last meeting. If you
could not attend, there have been several e-mail
address posted. Use them. Let them know your complaints
and concerns. I think in the long run all of us can come
up with a plan that will work. If not, well, at least
we can say we did everything possible! Good luck!
