The long warming trend in middle and south Alabama has really turned on the activity in smaller lakes and ponds. I caught some nice fish in a pond this weekend, and I understand the crappie and big bass are in the shallows at Dallas County Lake just below Selma. Dallas County Lake and Bibb County Lake have some really big bass and high numbers of them. You can use your boat or rent a boat. Most of the State Public Fishing Lakes (county lakes) don't allow you to use your gas motor, but you do not have to take it off the boat.
