All of the bass were caught within 200 yds of the powerhouse in the eddy water along the current seam(mid-river). As with all predatory fish down there they ALWAYS seem to feed best when TVA is generating. Catching live bait was the biggest problem. We netted them along the wall on the south bank next to the powerhouse. Store bought minnows might catch a few but the fish know that Mother Nature provides the "real thing". Natural forage will outfish anything else 95% of the time down there. The water was clear so I used 8# mono with a fairly large split shot and a #2 plain hook.
The striper that I caught was about 500-600 yds downstream from the powerhouse in the middle of the current. I used 14# line with a 3/4 oz jig head and a 4" Sassy Shad fished with a hopping motion near the bottom. The stripers didn't appear to be very active then but they should turn on soon. Good Luck!
