If you have a boat, go to CowFord Landing and put in there. Go down to the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant and stop right out front at the hot water discharge pipe (you'll see all the boats there). Fish a heavy 1oz to 1 1/2 oz sauger jig tipped with a minnow. You can buy these jigs and minnows at T&T Tackle on hwy 72 just west of Athens. Fish in the discharge current on the bottom, usually about 24 - 32 ft deep. Also try live shad or jigging spoons for the HUGE hybrid stripe. There was a 39lb, 31lb, several 20-25lb and more caught there before the ice and snow last week. Might also try beneath the Railroad bridge just below Decatur Boat Harbor. I heard rumors of hot sauger action there too. Good luck and be safe.
