Billy, I really don't know what to tell you about Guntersville crappie this time of year. I just don't have any experience over there except in the fall.
On water temps my guess would be to look for mid 50's. Prime spawn water temp is supposed to be from 60-62 degrees, but they will be staging in shallow water long before it gets that high. Since Guntersville usually has clearer waters than Wheeler, the cane poles may cause them to spook as you have to get real close in when using a boat.
Right now I am looking for a couple of clear sunny days on Wheeler to warm up some shallow mud flats. It might be the same on Guntersville, but I really don't know.
Hopefully one of the Guntersville crappie experts will post a reply with better info than I can provide.
Good luck and good fishin'
