I fished from 4:45 until 8:30 this morning and only managed 4 sauger which were about 14-15 inches. I did find eight active bass that hit deep diving crankbaits in 15-18 feet of water. They all came from eddy areas with underwater humps and rock piles. My largest "spot" weighed about 4 pounds and my largest "smallie" was about 3 pounds. The largemouth were not up to the task to chase a crankbait in the cold water.(44 degrees at 2 feet) The levelwind on my baitcasting reels kept freezing up this morning which proves once again that a "wooly worm" is more accurate at forecasting weather than the TV weathermen. I wasn't brave enough to ride down river to try the bluff areas and creek junctions today. Maybe I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Good Luck!
