I am sure a lot of you will be glad to hear something from me other than politcal/pollution babble. (smile)
With the prediction of temps in or near the low 60's the next couple of days and a little rain due thursday, this might be enough to make the crappie start to move up from the deeper water.
My guess, and it is only a guess, is to look for them at the mouths of creeks and inlets as the weather warms up. Late afternoon may be the ticket until we get a little more warm weather, then look for mid-morning and shallow water near deep drop-offs.
Last year I had fantastic luck from mid-january through february on artificial crawdads in the shallows. Apparently the crawdads rise up out of the mud this time of year for their own spawn, especially when the sun warms up the shallows and the crappie know about it too. (grin)
If not this week then at least by the end of january.
Good luck and good fishin'
