The EPA website

http://www.epa.gov/region4/waste/sf/sfdb.htm

lists many "bad boys" in our local area. Check out the AL NPL for Redstone Arsenal and Anniston schedules for cleanup. There are also email addresses for EPA case managers if you wish to inquire about progress. It appears that Redstone Arsenal is just over a year away from remediation. For the ERNS database, remember, notification is a voluntary thing so people on this list, although perhaps careless or maybe just unfortunate, made a good faith effort to follow a self-reporting procedure. You may be surprised at the "dirt" you can find on local industries. Maybe you can wage war on the people that do not comply with remediation schedules.

And, as I told you previously, you can review NPDES reports to find permitted people that are polluting wastewater treatment plants and perhaps rivers and streams.

Hope this helps!
