The water has a lot of color, which is how I like it this time of year. The mud gets the smallies out of suspension and puts them on the bank cover. Points, sea-walls and bluff rock is the deal for me. I fished last weekend, and the water was just starting to get some color. Got 2 threee pound smallies on spinnerbaits and a few shorts on Wilson, but it will be better now with the water cooling and getting more stained. For LM I'd pitch a jig or spinnerbait on shallow wood cover in pockets, and smallies I'd stick to the blade on the deep seawall points and so on. We've caught a few below Wilson dam on the rock piles over the last few weeks, and that also should get better.
