I agree that something needs to be done about poaching. We all know that the game enforcement officers are very few for the amount of area they have to cover. It is also hunting season and most sportsmen are in the woods at this time of year. The fastest way I have found to contact a game warren is to radio(or phone) the county sheriff's office dispatcher and she can get on the North Alabama Network and radio for an game officer. If the officer can't get to the location in time, they can request assistance from the sheriff office to help until they can get there. As you know, the game officer is not always in a boat, so if you can find out the location of where the poacher put their boat in, description of boat, poachers, and any helpful information, then the officer can be there when the poachers get back to the landing.
Everyone can do their part to help stop poaching. There are many more sportsmen in the river and woods than there are officers and they need our help to see and report the poachers. The officer can not get to the location fast enough every time but with a good description, they will keep an eye open for them in the future and be sure to check everyone fitting the description.
