Unfortunatly, poaching has been a problem for some time. Not to be overly critical of the enforcement division, as they are not supported well as I understand by the State, but poaching is easy in Alabama. That is proven every spring when the meat hunters from out of state arrive at Guntersville, and load up big coolers full of bass to take home. In 6 years of full time fishing, I've been checked by a Warden 1 time on Wilson, and NEVER on Guntersville. Not that I want to be harrassed when I'm fishing, but dang it would be nice to see a warden checking boats once in a while for fish. Poaching is stealing from all of us, and our laws are not being enforced out there. Gill netters have free reign, and just won't get caught. They can drag them out from anywhere in those john boats, and they don't get checked when they do go to load the fish from the nets.
