First, check http://lakeinfo.tva.gov for the current releases at any of the TVA dams. Last I checked (a few minutes ago) they were releasing quite a bit of water at all of the dams along the Tennessee river in North Alabama. As for being muddy Guntersville lake, in general, doesn't muddy up like Wheeler but it may have a little more stain. Wheeler on the other hand, at least in the Decatur area will be VERY muddy within the next few days. Below Guntersville dam I wouldn't think it should be that bad though, just swift!

Check the NAFF Home page for more links to information about fishing in North Alabama! For the operating guides and temperature data for all the TVA dams in North Alabama check the link for "Historical Tennessee River Lake Levels and Temperature Data". You will only find it on the NAFF!
