We decided to go sauger hunting Friday night below the dam. We arrived aroung 7 p.m.,to try and bank fish for a while. We had previously checked on the water release schedule and 2 or more turbines from 4p.m. to 9pm. We managed to catch one (2 lbs.) pretty quick, and was getting several bites. But about 7:35 they idled the water back, and then about 7:50 shut it off. We headed to the truck in disgust, wandering why the water was cut off early. About the time we started to leave,TVA police pulled up. He told us there had been an earthquake 10-15 miles northwest of Scottsboro, that was the reason of shutting down the water release. They were inspecting the dam for damges. The tremors were felt as far as Cullman County.

Well , maybe next time we'll do better, just thankful earthquake was not any worse.(3.9 on the richter scale) We would have been up the creek without a paddle if the dam would have broken.(literally)
