I agree, don't give up on the grass yet. I know "the book" says avoid decomposing grass, but I just got back from Guntersville fishing with Troy J. and shallow grass is all we fished, mostly humps less than 6 ft. and back in some pockets in the Mink Creek area, with small shad colored spinnerbaits. The grass is dying back but there is still green grass, it's just not as visible. Now, today was pretty darn slow, but Troy's had some decent sucess with this pattern earlier in the week and says it should actually get better as the water cools off, down to about 50 degrees. Some days they'll chase it, today they didn't do it so well. If there's no water being pulled the pockets will probably do better than main lake flats...they did today. Hope this helps, and post a report and let us know how you do!
