It's been a long time, but my Granddad used to live on Lay Lake. We used to do a lot of fishing in Paint Creek(?) on the Coosa County side. We did real well with crappie, bream and catfish on tuffies and crickets. We caught bass on T-rigged plastic worms. Maybe that will help.
