Stephen and I went out about 3:30am sunday morning to watch the Leonids meteor shower which was predicted to be a "storm" this year. Let me say this was the best meteor shower/storm I have ever seen in my life, bar none! We drove to the parking lot at the Hickory Hills boat ramp near Priceville (this one part of the story almost about fishing) and sat in camp chairs to view it. I estimate we saw at least, minimum 600 meteors and a couple of explosive ones. For one 2 minute period I counted them and stopped at 150, so we may have seen a lot more than 600 from about 3:30-daylight.
Alex and a friend were putting out in Guntersville to fish at about 4:30am and also saw a GREAT show, but I'll let him relate his experience. (smile)
Good luck and good fishin'
