The main reason why most people think that Smith is hard to fish is because you cant troll right up to your fishing spot in your 23 ft long glittered out bass boat and flip a 14 in lizard on 40 lb line and expect to catch anything. Seriously I agree with what others have said I have personally caught stripers and then on the very next cast catch a spot that could have been lunch if the striper really wanted it. Since the slot limit has been used on Smith the average size of bass you catch on Smith has nearly doubled (3/4 lb to 1.5lb). Same is true since the Crappie size limit came into effect.
