I hope I'm not the only nut who collects Langley De-Liars. I need some information. Does anybody know how many different variations were made?
I've found four De-Liar variations:
1. Langley 228 silver lettering on black background, black metal body, marked "not legal for trade" "Pat. Pend." "San Diego"
2. Langley 228 silver on green with green metal body, "not legal for trade" "Patented" "San Diego"
3. Langley 208 Black on silver with black metal body.
Marked "Pat. Pend." San Diego" (does not say not legal for trade)
4. Langley 208 Silver on green with green metal body. Marked "not legal for trade" "Patented" "San Diego"
I also have found a couple of plastic Zebco variations, but I'm mainly interested in the Langleys. Does anybody know when Langley sold out to Zebco?
I'm sure Alabama fishermen don't need De-Liars since they always tell the truth, but I live in Tennessee and all of my best fish stories are lies.
Thanks for any information you can offer.
