Just before these warmer temps, I was managing to catch 4 or 5 keeper (not big) crappie in the mornings at the pumps (Day Park, north end of the Hwy31 causeway near Decatur), but that hit went south as the temps came up. Under the causeway bridge wasn't much better either. The past 2 days I have taken the boat out (still leaking a little...) and tried areas that gave a little shelter from the south winds. 10 crappie tuesday and 7 today. I was using my usual (bass assassins/16th oz jighead) in crystal shad mostly. Hits came anywhere from 18 inches to 10 feet deep both with and without a cork. Largest fish was today at about 1.5 pounds. After catching so many smaller fish in the past few weeks, it really looked bigger to me at first. (grin)
Sorry again, I didn't even think about taking a surface temp reading...
Good Luck and Good Fishin'
