Fished the Browns creek bridge from the bank early this morning with 2 friends. 19 keepers between the three of us and a few too small to keep. Caught almost all of the keepers using a jig under a cork between 5 and 6 feet deep when the water was flowing back into Brownscreek from the river. A few were caught by casting tightline off of the points. All were black crappie with the biggest between 3/4 and a pound. Didn't see much caught from the boats, but I couldn't see them very well from the bank.
This bridge is no secret spot, so it gets a lot of traffic from boat and bank fishermen. You have to get there REALLY early to get a good spot when the crappie really turn on.
BTW, I tried Guntersville in the boat yesterday and didn't do anywhere near as well as today from the bank. (sigh)
Good luck and good fishin'
