Most of the people in this forum are from North Alabama , but we have a lot of people in central and south Alabama, that visit your forum. This message is addressed to those people. On August 28th at the Northport Civic Center their will be a meeting with the corp of engineers to discuss dredging of the warrior and tombigbee rivers, we need as many fishermen as can attend this meeting. They are about a 100 sloughs on these rivers that cannot be accessed, the corp is supose to keep the mouths to these creeks open, but most are filled in.Large yatchs travel thes waterways and their wake erodes the river banks, filling in the creek mouths. The fish cannot spawn in the river without their eggs being washed away. The fish need these slough areas to spawn and we need to be able to fish these areas. The local land owners love to keep these areas closed, because they have a private lake. If you can attend this meeting, please do so, it begins at 4:00-7:00. We need these areas open, by law they are suposed to be open, its our tax dollars. Northport in ajacent to Tuscaloosa, thanks Danny
