I guided on Wilson yesterday. With the willow fly hatch, I'd say now is the time and you should plan a trip up to lake Wilson for your best chance at smallies on a fly-rod. They are shallow, and eating the willow flys under the trees on bluffs and around sea-walls and piers. The bigger smallies are eating the baitfish (small bream) feeding on the willow flys. Any mayfly imitation, (wet or dry) or popping bug is great. Great action on a 6 weight, but use as long a leader as possible. Good luck, and put them back!
