The grass is topping out in some of the shallows. 3-5 foot range is near top in certain places, but usually able to fish above grass in this range. The bass topwater bite has been good early and late. With all the pressure the lake gets with white spinner baits and rattle traps, I have found that slow (finesse) type baits are best. A little upriver, but almost directly across from the State Park, is Siebold creek which I have found a whole new respect for this year! I believe the bream should just about be finishing the spawn in the next week or so. With the cooler temperatures moving in this week, I think next weekend should be prime time in the semi-shallow waters with grass.
